Roquet Rush Angle Simulator
Adjust angle and click Strike Ball
How to Use This Simulator
- Set the Angle: Use the Cut Angle slider to adjust your aim.
- 0° is a straight rush (the balls stay on the same line).
- Higher angles create a "cut" or "split" shot.
- Set the Power: Adjust the Shot Power slider to determine how hard the Striker (Blue) hits the Object ball (Red).
- Strike: Click the STRIKE BALL button to watch the physics in action.
- Reset: Click RESET to bring the balls back to the start and try a different angle.
Key Physics Features
This tool visualizes the mathematical principles of a roquet (hitting another ball) described by Oxford Croquet:
- The "Ghost Ball" Aim: To hit the red ball at a specific angle, the blue ball does not aim at the center of the red ball. Instead, it aims at the center of the "ghost ball". This simulator calculates that offset automatically based on your angle selection.
- Lawn Friction: The balls do not roll forever. A deceleration factor (friction) is applied, simulating the resistance of the grass on a croquet lawn.
